Initially Emvale looked at woman’s rugby gear from boots to protection wear and compression clothing. After chats with fellow sportswomen we believed there is a gap in the marketplace for women to get great quality sportswear at affordable prices in this range of wear. Though our origins started with footy gear we have also added to this range so we can give you a greater choice of athletic wear. Our focus will always be in quality and supplying what you require to perform. Our range is designed in New Zealand and continues to be tested by you around the world. We are proud to have our brand worn by you.
What we found and were told is that a lot of sportswear accommodates females by ‘offering’ them smaller men’s sizing. We are totally focussed on the female sports body and her needs. Whether you are an Olympian or an irregular jogger Emvale will support you to reach your goals.
Our products are designed that allows you freedom of movement, great support and stylish. Our philosophy is to provide a range of sportswear that is great wearing and affordable.

Emvale is from the first documented Women’s rugby player; Emily. Valentine. A pioneer that broke some barriers to play a sport she enjoyed. Women’s rugby website, www.scrumqueens.com, has unearthed the earliest ever record of a female playing rugby with the discovery of the memoirs of Ireland’s Emily Valentine, who played in 1887 while she was a student at the Portora Royal School in Enniskillen. Lara: Former provincial youth football player and NZ touch player. She has continued this passion for sports by competing in Netball, Touch, Football, Rugby and Triathlons. A love of challenging herself and competition has seen her run up the Empire State building and do a Tough Gal challenge. Next goal is to run 3 marathons in 2013 so busy training and planning. Having previously worked in Europe with a leading sportswear brand and now back in NZ, she is enjoying the outdoor life and the ‘odd’ Savy as well
Ruffy: Kiwi born began playing rugby in the back yard at probably 3 years old – versus older brothers and neighbourhood kids and from those beginnings got to play in the Super 14 and for the UK Barbarians. Was fortunate to play and experience different cultures because of his rugby, playing in Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Ireland and England. Now that his boots are truly hung up he has done a few years rugby coaching and still keeps ‘fitish’ with a Sunday morning bush run and some easy cycling.
